technology

Earlier this week, people in Maxico and the US recognized Dia De Muertos (Day of the Dead), a holiday which recognizes friends and loved ones which have recently departed. Some serveys were also taken to recognize some technologies which have recently or will soon be leaving technology mainstream.

Advertisement of any technology didn’t make it onto the list. Dial-up connections were squeezed out because they are still used by the majority of the world to access the internet, and are still a last ditch method for those of us is the West.

Similarly dot-matrix printing also didn’t make it on here, because it is still widely used in certain key vertical markets.

Following is the Top 10 list of the technologies which are ranked to be soon in the dead que:

  1. Desktop PC
  2. Compact Disc
  3. Floppy Disc
  4. Handhelp GPS
  5. Peripheral Cables
  6. Fire Wire
  7. Tape Storage
  8. The Portable Media Player
  9. Landlines
  10. The Operating System
